Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
However, Hezekiah humbled himself because of the pride in his heart, along with all the people living in Jerusalem, so God's anger did not come upon them during Hezekiah's lifetime.
This verse shows that when Hezekiah and his people genuinely humbled themselves before God, He mercifully held back His judgment from them.
